If you haven’t walked the Highline then you’re missing out. It’s even more breathtaking in the summer, so you’ve got no excuses now. Parade down the Highline in a gingham skirt or skinny jeans and a baby doll top. Then make your way to the Whitney Museum for some serious art gazing. Talk about a day full of glorious views!
Enjoy A Day on Governor’s Island

Once upon a time, Governor’s Island was abandoned and even dangerous, but today it’s a haven for those who want to get a quick history lesson and see New York this summer from a distinct vantage point. Revel in the fact that this island is a landmark of New York City’s past and has turned around for the better in the past decades. Governor’s Island is the perfect day trip with plenty to do and see –bring your camera because there are so many Insta-worthy shots.

This is a Scandinavian concept that’s really taking off stateside. Of course, the super trendy neighborhood of Brooklyn took the idea and ran with it. They came up with a food flea market with over 100 vendors which mimic the idea of the original Smorgaburg. From 11-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays, it’s a perfect way to get out of Manhattan and into Brooklyn. Be sure to wear comfy clothes and shoes.
Picnic In Central Park Sheep Meadow

Picnicking is a summer staple! I adore eating outside, under a lush tree with a cool breeze flowing through my hair. Sheep Meadow is a quiet paradise tucked inside of Central Park, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The lawn is impeccable and the ambiance is ideal. Don’t forget your summer hat and shades to really enjoy your picnic day. This is one of the things that I’m looking forward to doing myself in New York this summer!
Row Boats in Central Park

This has to be one of my favorites! Row boats in Central Park is a tradition that’s been around for almost a century. And with good reason –the activity is both invigorating and relaxing. Depending on the theme for the day, your outfit will change. If this is a romantic outing, then go for a pastel maxi dress. If it’s just for fun, then you have so many options, but I’d go for a romper. Be sure to lounge a little and let the waters ease you into a lazy afternoon.
Dine Al Fresco

I never get tired of eating al fresco in New York. And because it’s become so popular in the past decade, almost all restaurants worth visiting have outdoor seating in the summer. Because you’re sitting al fresco, it’s the perfect time to show off your best summer wardrobe –mini-skirts, high-waisted shorts, or a yellow maxi dress paired with a bold striped blazer and wedges will get you the looks and service you deserve.
Slurp Oysters at the Grand Banks

Oysters are as summer as lemonade and ice cream. Plenty of people flocks to Grand Banks to indulge in the summer time meal, one shell at a time. With plenty of views, Grand Banks is the perfect place to sit back and slurp oysters. If oysters aren’t your thing, there are alternative seafood items on the menu, so don’t worry.

I covered this topic in my top rooftop bars in New York City. This is a must! Seriously, don’t let the summer pass you by without going to a rooftop bar. There are so many varieties, too, so rest assured there’s one that suits your style –from super fancy to casual, everyone is covered. Go at sunset to catch the best view New York summer has to offer. You won’t regret it, not for a New York second!

Your heart will melt from how stunning the views are and you will marvel at the construction of the bridge itself. Once you’ve made the trek, find a spot to quench your thirst and revitalize your energy with a savory meal in DUMBO, it’s a Brooklyn neighborhood with a timeless feel that you won’t want to miss.
