The sun starts to set a little earlier and there’s an undeniable crisp chill in the air, fall is around the corner indeed. My latest fashion find is making me more excited for the season of layering and chic outerwear.

Who doesn’t love a good bomber jacket? A definite throwback piece with retro appeal, the bomber jacket is enjoying a sartorial renaissance. One of the must-have items for fall fashion, I love how bomber jackets lend your look a vintage feel while being edgy and modern. From runway to the street, bomber jackets are all the rage right now, no question about that.

When I saw the bomber jacket from Lord & Taylor’s Highline Collective, it was kismet. I thought that this olive green number and I are meant to be. Emblazoned with fun and playful patches and personalized for me, there was no way I was letting this jacket slip from my grasp. It would just be too big of a heartache for my closet and I to not have this piece for fall.

Bomber jackets are a great transitional piece. You can layer this over a satin dress or sun dress as a way to lengthen the life of your summer frocks, or you can opt to upgrade your jeans-and-tee combo with this style savvy bomber jacket. I chose to wear it with a striped turtleneck for a dash of Parisian chic and finish off my ensemble with black lace up boots for that definite New York urban flair.
