NEVER MISS A POST

NYFW Highlights

Date: Posted on Category: Outfit Location:

Another NYFW has come and gone, and boy do I miss it already!

I’ll admit its exhausting, but there’s seriously just nothing like it. It’s magical. And there are sooo many trends to look forward to in the fall that I almost want to skip summer altogether. Almost. But I can’t get ahead of myself. I can’t wait for summer, and I can’t wait for the next NYFW! In the meantime, these are some highlights!

My favorite looks:

-I am obsessed with the monochrome look I wore with white booties. The light earth tones worked like magic with my hair and my skin tone. And the ribbed sweater and skirt kept me warm enough to show off my bare legs. Take that, winter!

-I love how the flared denim with a slit paired with this fabulous plaid jacket with bell sleeves and suede booties encapsulated a 70s vibe, without being too 70s—because that can get very costume-y very quickly! But with the modern twist on the pieces it totally works for 2017. And the watermelon earrings and adorable umbrella helped, too!

-A break from heels was such sweet relief after days of being in heels all day and all night. I fell in love with the platform sneakers I wore with this tweed jacket and cropped trousers. I didn’t realize I could be so cozy and comfortable at NYFW!

-I heart my look with the heart shaped handbag! I love pairing red with red. It’s a bold statement, and so romantic. The long plaid coat had oversized sleeves, and the red heels with the ribbon detail gave the oversized look that feminine touch that I love.

-The collarless yellow coat and being OTK boots? So chic yet so simple. I like the unconventional pairing of yellow and beige, and love the effortless mod vibes this look pulls of so well. Also love how the handbag and the boots complement each other.

My favorite shows:

It’s so hard to pick a few. But for me the stand outs were Lactose, Self-portrait, Jonathan Simkhai, and Moncler. Moncler was fascinating. It was so cool to be there in the moment, seeing something so new and exciting in the world of fashion. These days, fashion shows are getting more and more about the show in addition to being about the clothes, and Moncler pulled it off so well.

My favorite events:

Marc Jacobs and Nars. NYFW events are such a vibrant of creative people including good friends and well-respected people in the industry.

OMG moment:

Umm, you know, just that one time I sat across from the Anna Wintour at Marchesa. That was such a real moment for me, and I’ll never forget it.

I also had some incredible backstage moments with Bumble and Bumble for Proenza. I love seeing what happens behind the scenes: there’s so many creative people working so hard for fashion, and it inspires me so much to see it first-hand!

And as always, NYFW had to end. But it ended on a good note with Stella Artois after party. Such great friends, great fashion, and great trends to look forward to in 2017!
