I have touched upon it before on the blog, but I just wanted to reiterate my love for kitten heels this spring season. A couple of years ago, these short heels would immediately be dismissed and labeled as footwear for the elderly, but I’m glad they’re back and more stylish than ever. Although, they were all the rage in the 50s and 60s (think Mad Men era) and then again in the 90s, the stiletto heel prevailed leaving the more conservative kitten heel behind. It’s slowly made a return and I simply cannot get enough, which you probably noticed at fashion week. They’re just too irresistible when comfort and style come into play

So if you’re not yet convinced, here’s all the reasons why you need a pair of kitten heels now!

Casual Comfort & Style

Typically, kitten heels have a height of 1.75 inches (4.75 centimeters) or less, making them the obvious choice when compared to your typical heel. The great thing about them is that they produce the same classy, elegant aesthetic as a stiletto would, but ten times the comfort. I have no problem romping around town, shooting, and exploring all day in these! My fellow bloggers and fashionistas should almost consider it a blessing that micro heels are trending right now!

You can try a slingback to elevate your most casual pair of jeans or some kitten heel mules to spruce up the office wear. They also look more appropriateand less risque when coupled with mini skirts.

High Fashion & Trend Worthy

Believe it or not, some people are completely opposed to micro heels as they can’t see how modern and classy they are – and they believe kitten heels should remain a thing of the past. Don’t be one of those… Their relevance is evidenced by the statement they have been making on the runway these past few fashion week seasons. Several of my favorite brands like Balenciaga, Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney (just to name a few), have debuted their own version of the kitten heel. And each adaptation from sling backs to sculptural heels has a strong sense of femininity and style. From polka dots to fringe and vinyl, kitten heels will look amazing in your most trendiest ensembles.

Versatility

Unlike your average stiletto, kitten heels can be worn in practically any setting as they are so versatile and easy to dress up and down. They can complete a polished evening look or accent your favorite pair of overalls. They can be worn to a work meeting or to brunch on the weekend. The options are seriously endless!

Kitten heels, whether boots, sandals, or pumps, are statement shoes, so definitely show them off in your outfit. Personally, one of my favorite ways to rock them is with a midi skirt or tapered trousers. The juxtaposition between a relaxed fit and the ornate shoe just go so well together. It makes for the perfect street style look.

If you only make one shoe upgrade in 2018, let it be with the kitten heel! What do you think of this trend? Have I convinced you?
